Receiving your report is the start of your care, not the end of it.

Your report

  • A comprehensive written report detailing the assessment process, outcome, and findings
  • Where a diagnosis is confirmed, the report may include a recommendation for reasonable adjustments at work or in education, where relevant
  • Signposting to other services or support, where appropriate
Autism assessments do not involve medication. Recommendations are tailored to your individual circumstances and focus on practical understanding rather than a treatment plan.

Is the assessment completed by a doctor?
Yes. All assessments are completed personally by Dr Roji Thomas, NHS Consultant Neuropsychiatrist (GMC No. 5194864). Verify on the GMC register → The assessment is never delegated to an associate or non-medical practitioner.
How long does the assessment take?
The assessment typically involves a comprehensive clinical interview lasting approximately 2–3 hours. Additional information may be requested where appropriate.
Who is the assessment suitable for?
It is suitable for adults who would like to explore whether Autism Spectrum Disorder may explain longstanding differences in social communication, sensory experiences, routines or patterns of thinking and behaviour.
Will I receive a written report?
Yes. You will receive a detailed written report outlining the assessment findings, diagnostic conclusions, and recommendations where appropriate.
Can the report be shared with my GP or employer?
Yes. With your consent, a copy of the report can be provided to your GP, employer, university or other healthcare professionals involved in your care.
Do I need information from a parent or family member?
Collateral information can be helpful, particularly when exploring developmental history. However, this is not always available and assessments can proceed appropriately without it.
